UVA HIGHLANDS, BOP QUALITY 2025
This seasonal Uva tea is from Ceylon's most historic tea estate. Enjoy the refreshing aroma and pleasant crispness that are unique to this time of year.
With just one sip, the refreshing aroma of Uva in Autumn hits you, capturing the charm of this limited seasonal tea. The southwest monsoon that passes through this region of Ceylon from July to September imparts a vibrant aroma and concentrated flavor characteristic of this season to the tea leaves, giving it a refreshing aroma and a smooth finish.
Founded in 1909, Uva Highlands Tea Estate is one of the most famous tea estates in the Uva region, located at an altitude of approximately 1,200-1,300 meters, in the Badulla district of Uva Province. The tea estate covers an area of 326 hectares. In 1920, a tea factory was built on the property. Today, this state-of-the-art facility, ISO 22000, HACCP, GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice), and Rainforest Alliance certified, is dedicated to producing high-quality black tea. In addition to black tea production, the tea estate also operates a lemon orchard, embracing agricultural diversification and sustainable development. Its rich, full-bodied flavor and refreshing, elegant aroma have earned it worldwide acclaim.
Uva, a high-mountain tea-producing region in Ceylon (Sri Lanka), is renowned as one of the world's three most famous teas, alongside Darjeeling in India and Keemun in China.
Located in a hilly region at an altitude of 900-1,500 meters, this high-growth region boasts a robust flavor and refreshing aroma. The tea is harvested in July and August, when the cold, dry monsoon winds blow through the tea estate. This produces tea leaves with a particularly concentrated flavor.
