SAYAMA BLEND 2025

SAYAMA BLEND 2025 is a new tea with a fragrant flavor due to the traditional strong roasting method. It has a sweet, warm, and soothing flavor.

This new tea has a crisp, sharp aftertaste, and is finished with a strong aroma using the traditional strong roasting method called "Sayama roasting". This tea is steamed for even longer than deep steamed tea to create a stronger flavor. The stems of the tea are deliberately added to enhance the aroma and give the tea a clean aftertaste.

Sayama is the northernmost large-scale tea producing area in Japan. The relatively cold soil produces tea with a thick, full-bodied flavor.
The unique fragrant flavor finished with "Sayama roasting" is so popular that it is said, "The color is Shizuoka, the aroma is Uji, and the taste is Sayama." Sayama tea is cultivated in relatively cool plateaus and hilly regions, so the tea leaves that survive the winter slowly store nutrients, and the leaves become thick and rich in flavor.
Because the leaves become thicker, Sayama tea naturally requires strong steaming, but roasting techniques developed over many years of experience remove unpleasant flavors while retaining the sweetness. There are many varieties that are uniquely cultivated in Saitama Prefecture at the Saitama Tea Research Institute and other facilities, and the prefecture handles a wide variety of tea varieties, including some unique varieties.
