This spring-picked black tea, made from high-quality tea leaves, has a lively seasonal aroma and is recommended to be drunk straight. The body is light, but it has the right amount of richness and aroma typical of Assam in season, and the rich, satisfying aftertaste lasts for a long time.

Harmutty Tea Plantation, located on the banks of the Dikrong River, a tributary of the Brahmaputra River in Assam, India, is one of the historic tea plantations established in 1870 which has been highly praised for its high quality, orthodox leaf tea for many years.
It is said that the name Harmutty comes from Queen Hiramati, the wife of King Arimata, who is believed to have once had a kingdom in southern Assam.

The total area of the estate is approximately 1,050 hectares, of which approximately 560 hectares is under tea cultivation. The remaining area is virgin forest, paddy fields and other associated areas, which climb the hills towards Arunachal Pradesh at an altitude of approximately 160m. The tea produced at Harmutty Tea Estate is primarily exported to Europe, America and the Middle East.

Over the years, Harmutty Tea Estate's high quality authentic black tea has been highly acclaimed and its quality has consistently ranked highly at the auctions in North India.
