Chiran in Kagoshima Prefecture is a famous tea cultivation area with a nationwide reputation for high quality green tea in Japan. It is truly a spectacular sight to behold as a group of extensive tea plantations appear beyond the historical streetscape of magnificent samurai residences. It is a vast production area with a panoramic view of the beautiful Kaimondake volcano, also known as Satsuma Fuji. The warm climate and well-drained fertile land nurture the growth of shincha with a lively, refreshing flavor and fresh sweetness.
