The naturally sweet and mellow taste of this tea has a lingering, soft floral finish. The rich aroma may bring to mind the zest of just-picked oranges. This fine tea is the highest premium quality Nilgiri of the winter season. For the best results, we recommend steeping the leaves in water that is slightly below boiling temperature (185-203°F). Only available in limited quantity.

KAIRBETTA estate is located in high elevations between 5,500ft to 6,300ft along the outskirts of Kotagiri town in Nilgiri Hill. This plantation gets its name from their local language which translates to, “top of the hill.” Although Nilgiri teas are typically produced using the CTC method, this is one of the few plantations which still cultivates using only the Orthodox Method. This historical plantation has been developed by many producers through the course of over 100 years.

Frost tea is usually produced during the very limited period of December-February, when the temperature in Nilgiri is lowest. Using only leaves that were carefully hand-picked, the tea-making process takes place at dawn when the temperature is the lowest in the day, producing luxuriously aromatic teas.
